The
RSHM LIFE Center, where Learning Is
For Everyone, is located in Sleepy Hollow, New
York and serves primarily the immigrant Hispanic residents of
Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown and Upper Westchester County. The
adults and children who use the Center's services are classified
as the working poor whose incomes are below the poverty level
for the region.
Founded in 1995, the LIFE Center offers education programs and
social services which enable individuals and families to acquire
the skills and to access the resources they need to improve
their life situation. Two unique features of the Center are that
it focuses on the learning needs of the entire family and
provides free childcare for adults taking various Center
programs. The Center’s After School Program is licensed by the
New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
In 2005 the RSHM LIFE Center was recognized for its work and was
named Organization of the Year by the Sleepy Hollow/Tarrytown
Chamber of Commerce.
